THE FIRST PART

XXI

To further demonstrate how to draw the feet of women & girls, using a very easy method, and to show the differences from men's feet, we present three appearances here. The first foot A is viewed from the front & depicted in a certain way, aligned in two parallels, forming the oval shape of the foot, lifted upon a quadrilateral that serves as a guide when drawing it in three sections: one where the foot begins, another at the arch, and the third around the curve. This method helps capture the internal lines of foot C, to make it more accurately shaped. Finally, two parallel lines are drawn under which a known circle D is placed, forming a triangle that corresponds to the cavity of foot A, B, C when viewed from the side and fills in that way. The foot is divided into three parts: the first for placement, the second for the arch, and the third for the curve. The women's feet are treated more gently and polished, closer together, as we dress on a second wall, hence the light always indicates the shadow. In the case of the shadow, a twentieth problem appears for practicing when forming legs or feet. The men's feet, with the pen, should not have so many overlaps one over the other; instead, the greatest effort should be directed towards the shadow, curving it smoothly to create a gentle gradient for perfection.
