The text discusses the proportional similarities between the arms of women and men, noting that women's arms are softer and less muscular. It suggests using a gentler shading technique for women's arms, consistent with the instructions given in a previous problem. The text promises further exploration of these ideas in a subsequent section.
THE FIRST PART
And since the arms of women are almost of the same proportion as those of men, except that they are softer and less muscular, like those of men; for these reasons, when drawing them in my second part, I will treat this aspect more fully. For shadows, apply shading with a light pen in the same manner as shown in my Problem XX.
Although women's arms have the same proportion as men's arms, they are softer and not as hard as men's arms; and here their features can be more delicate. I will expand on this in my second part. For sketches, use the same approach as with men's arms. For shading, use the same method as I taught in my Problem XX.
Since the arms of women or girls have almost the same proportion as those of men, their features are softer, less muscular, and more delicate than those of men, and I will address this further in my second part. For drawing them, maintain the same guideline, but for shading, follow the same method as explained in my Problem XX.
And while the arms of the female figures are roughly similar in proportion to those of men, they are somewhat softer and more tender and do not have the hard shapes of men's figures. I will discuss this more in another section, but for portraying, maintain the same characteristics. In shading, apply the same methods as I described in my Problem XX.
Translation Notes:
