English Translation of this page:

Human Limbs.

The sixth kind is hollow above and elevated below. The seventh kind is elevated above and straight below. The eighth and last kind is elevated above and has a hollow or hooked appearance. In all these types, you find Short, Long, and Medium, even the Misshaped, in Width, Thickness, and in Curvature: The qualities of the Noses, in the following illustrations, which we have designed not inadequately, can be observed. Those who wish to learn about the Beauty of the Noses from ancient Statues and Busts say that the straight Noses, making up a quarter of the Head, and moderately protruding forward, and tapering off squarely at the bottom, are the most beautiful; which can also be seen in many beautiful Exquisite Sculptures. The Women with Snub Noses, which are somewhat Long, and very sharp downward and protrude forward considerably, are accused of being very stingy and not at all good-natured. Those with straight and even Noses are usually sensible Housewives: But the Thick Blunt and Snub Noses often belong to foolish Swine; Or at least rude and rarely hygienic. A Dirty Nose is a common derogatory term among the Women. Besides the function the Nose has around Scent, (for it can together with the Eyes distinguish a Person for three credible Witnesses, to ascertain if something, when Healthy or Sick, should be consumed, received, or imbibed, to ensure that it is good, or how it turned out.) So it still has various other uses, that are their own.
