Muscle and Service of the Chest
A chest that is more bony than fleshy was considered a common sign of strength. A well-developed chest, however, is often found among individuals who are timid and clumsy. Men with a soft, flabby chest are often immodest and somewhat effeminate. Similarly, those with sagging chests are generally thought to be drunkards.
In the past, connoisseurs perceived a narrow chest and abdomen as a sign of high intelligence and good judgment. A hairy chest suggests not only the strength of nature but also pride and an inflated sense of self. In cases where the chest flows abundantly over the abdomen, it is viewed as a sign of people who are indecisive, fickle, and lacking religious conviction.
The abdomen, lacking bones and with many folds and muscles, is constructed like a broad cushion or bag, placed under the chest. It can expand widely or contract narrowly. This is why it is composed of many layers, folds, and muscles. If a muscle is insufficient, the expansion of unregulated desires is encouraged, affecting the strength of actions such as breathing, sighing, yelling, and other strong emotions, which need to be driven out of the hollow places of the abdomen and chest. With assistance, these actions can be carried out easily without pain, coordinating the stabilizing muscles of the abdomen effectively.
In allowing their movements to happen freely, they can work together both internally and externally to perform the said services. When the abdominal muscles are convulsively contracted, women were gently moved to a sense of being overwhelmed and modest, etc.
