English Translation of this page:

Expression of the Faces.

The expressions with which the faces have in common, or only partially, can be observed in these models of face observation. When one tries to find the expression of the national character, it should not be difficult; in Model Y, a Norwegian or Danish man can be seen. AA wants to represent an English man, and L.T. wants to show a Frenchman. In D.X., a Moor can be found. Similarly, E.CC can represent the essence of an Italian. F.I. provides the expression of a contemporary Dutchman, and another model, yet again, is unidentifiable; that is left to the diligent observer.
If one desires to read various passions, virtues, vices, and dispositions of the mind from the expressions of faces, observe our examples once more. In the face H, you will find an angry person; goodness in F. DD.; vanity in M.Q.S.; foolishness in D. BB.; sharpness in B. CC.; pride and arrogance in P. S.; narrow-mindedness in N.O.; pottery in A. X.; absurdity in A.; sobriety in T.V.; greed and grudges in Z.; humility and calm conscience in DD.; envy and jealousy in L.; a slavish spirit in G; and in T, one may somewhat notice a well-born soul.
