PIERRE PAUL RUBENS
Born in Cologne on June 29, 1577, son of John, Esquire, and
honored from the most noble line of great notaries, he executed many
grand works in Italy and was renowned for them. He
was employed in England as an Ambassador to negotiate
peace between this crown and that of Spain, and was honored with
the titles of knighthood by the Kings of France, Spain, and other
glories. He died in Antwerp on May 30, 1640.
