THE FIFTH PART
V.
Depiction of a Horse with its Anatomy Seen from the Front
We have already talked about how to properly depict the bodies of humans or animals, it is necessary to study anatomy well. Thus, we wanted to represent the horse as viewed from the side and also to show it from the front. This is to understand, through experience, the muscles of the body, the arteries of the thighs, legs, knees, and those of the neck, head, and details of the face such as nostrils. All these are shown in detail to make it clearer, including the legs, thighs, knees, and feet separately, to demonstrate the grace in depicting a horse, particularly by properly touching the muscles of the legs.
Definition of the Anatomy of the Horse Presented from the Front
We have previously mentioned that to accurately depict a body, whether of a man or a beast, one must first study anatomy thoroughly. This is why I've sketched the horse's anatomy from the side and also present it from the front. This allows us to see and precisely understand the chest muscles, the nerves of the legs, knees, feet, arteries of the neck, muscles of the head, eye sockets, nostrils, and other parts with their contractions. To show everything more particularly, I have also displayed the feet and legs separately, for the perfection of the horse's design is fully appreciated when the muscles of the legs are well portrayed.
Characteristics of the Depicted Horse Shown from the Front
Earlier we've explained how to correctly sketch the bodies of humans or animals. It's very necessary to practice the depicted systematically. I have shown the horse from the front as well as from the side to recognize the muscles of the chest and thighs, likewise the sinews of the legs and joints and feet. Also, the muscles of the neck, the nostril placements, eyes, and other features with their contractions. Therefore, I have rendered both feet and the legs individually so the beauty in sketching, when the muscles of the legs are well highlighted, can be fully appreciated.
The Overview of the Depicted Horse Seen from the Front
I mentioned before that when drawing the anatomy of humans or animals, it is crucial to sketch with precision. I have shown the horse not only from the side but also from the front to recognize the muscles of various body parts including the chest, legs, neck, and more. This ensures a complete and accurate depiction, beautifully portraying the structure and muscles of the horse.
